Wallpaper girl

Recently I noticed that my backgrounds are very bland - a bright pop of color or an occasional flirt with texture.  Today I decided to let the background do the talking.  What I love is how the girl looks like she was drawn on white paper, cut out and glued on the page but in reality she was drawn first and the "wallpaper" was painted around her.  It was really fun to paint these loose flowers.  Gonna have to try that again!

Linking to Paint Party Friday,

Super cute. I really like how the back ground makes the girl pop.

Your characters are always so vibrant that the background doesn't matter because I'm focused on your beautiful art! This is a beautiful combination though... love the pattern!

Really loving your wall paper background. Those gorgeous, colourful flowers remind me of Matisse. I love the face too: she looks calm and serene. xxx
