A plethora of pink

I'm not a huge fan of pink - in fact I often make fun of my friend Kim's love of that hue - but it is time for the Summer of Color Challenge and this week's palette consists of two pinks coupled with an orange.  This is exactly why I love this challenge - I'd never paint a picture like this if it weren't for the daunting task of using these colors together and frankly I kinda like it in all its glorious rosy hue - Go figure!  Thanks Kristin for making me stretch from my comfort zone!

I like it too. She seems lost in thought. Great job. Happy PPF and SOC!

Hard to believe you don't use this colour combo more often as this looks great... But like you I admit I don't love pink... I try to paint with it more, and love adding pink to reds to make awesome colours, but it just isn't me... I do have a niece who is almost entirely dressed in pink from head to toe... It is quite the sight

SOC seems to do that to a lot of us, doesn't it? I also like your lady with her thoughtful expression and mysterious eyes. Wonder what she's thinking.

I agree with your pink comment, way out of my comfort zone too, however you have made a wonderful job of using the SOC colours this week. Well done your piece is fab. x

This is gorgeous! I keep seeing a lot of comments that folk don't like pink - it's funny because I love it - perhaps because I love dramatic skies and pink usually features in the most amazing sunrises and sunsets! Anyway, I'm glad you gave it a go as this is beautiful!

I love her, Michelle... The lines in her hair are fabulous & I love how it's divided by the white! I think you did an amazing job with the color combo... you did pink proud, even though you're not a fan (I have to agree... Pink isn't usually a favorite of mine either.)

I think you might not care for pink but you used it well here. I love the head scarf (or is it hair- I like it being a head scarf better)on this lady. It really makes her so beautiful showing her face like that.

love the glow these colours give her. She looks great, although she seems to be wondering whether she likes this colour or not .... ;-)

I always think I don't like pink and I then see someone using it to stunning effect as you have done! I then realize that actually pink can look amazing if you use it well in the right combo! I love this! xxx
